Based on the topography of the area, the installation of erosion blankets is an erosion control technique that we prioritize to increase the strength of a sloped surface. The type and the density of the material used for the erosion blankets are selected according to the type of soil, the vegetation and the required durability of the erosion blanket.
The installation of branch erosion blankets, mainly used on steeply sloping grounds, consists of creating a layer of 20 to 25 branches per linear meter and covering it with an erosion control material. Installing erosion blankets stabilizes the soil by creating ideal conditions for plant growth. This ensures a restoration of the soil using seeds, multi-cell plants, or branches with good rooting abilities.
